Security Analyst/Project Manager

Miller Kaplan’s Information Security practice is a boutique Information Management consulting group that focuses on taking care of our clients with exceptional customer service. We pride ourselves on developing our team members who wish to grow in their roles into Information Security consultants.

As our Security Analyst/ Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing our projects to ensure that they move along at an appropriate pace and in accordance with our statements of work. You will alert teams and the practice partner when a project is at risk and when they need further assistance. You will also gain exposure to other specific information security tasks.

This role will also work on security consulting tasks for our clients. These can include elements such as creating standard and custom reports for our clients, providing analysis of our vulnerability scans, creating, executing and analyzing phishing attack reports, as well as a number of other technical efforts related to supporting our clients. We look to tailor the projects worked on to the skill set of each employee and create professional development plans so that each employee is in a position to grow year-over-year.

Finally, you will also split specific administrative duties, such as managing our timekeeping system, supporting billing operations, and accounts receivable.

Position Type
This position is part-time, 20 hours per week. Reports to practice partner.

Job Description:
Manage projects to include:
  • Establish client information in our systems
  • Act as primary coordinator for projects with clients
  • Facilitate project completion
  • Ensure appropriate billing and budget for each project
  • Alert if the project is not progressing appropriately
Perform technical tasks:
  • Lead the coordination to develop and send out phishing simulations
  • Support our ongoing virtual Chief Information Security Officer efforts
  • Assist with Information Security tasks commensurate with experience
Create Reports:
  • Write template-based reports gathering input from our systems and team members
  • Create various types of custom reports with clients such as risk assessments, assessment reports and vulnerability reports

Job Qualifications:
  • 2-5 years of experience in an administrative/coordinator role
  • Excellent organizational capabilities
  • Change management
  • Create and/or update procedural documentation
  • Expert in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and browser-based systems
  • Familiarity with diverse business functions such as sales, marketing, finance, operations, etc.
  • Our specific cloud-based systems include:
    • Practice Management
    • Project Management
    • Billing
    • Phishing Defense Training
    • Vulnerability scanning
  • Project management experience
  • Performance management principles
  • Exposure to technical products or working with computer systems
  • Information security experience a plus
